A Note from the Counseling Center

BC Summer School  Credit-Recovery Programs 2018

 The following Summer School options have been approved for BCHS students with course failures. 

 A printed packet of this information is also available in the BCHS Counseling Office.

Please consult the specific program’s brochure or their web-page for registration instructions, class details, credits offered and deadlines.  Once enrolled, please contact the BCHS Counseling Office at 412-922-7400 Ext. 224 to notify us that your child is registered and where.   

All work must be completed by August 9, 2018 so that we at BCHS receive final grades and credits in time for the start of school in September.  BCHS’s passing grade is 70% or higher.  



Central Catholic HS’s Classroom Credit Recovery - Click the title above for a flyer with details & courses offered.

Registration is on-site at Central Catholics Counseling Dept. from June 13-15, 8am-12 noon, 2nd floor. 

Cost is $285.00 per one-credit course.

Educere is an on-line Virtual Education Service.  Click the following link for courses offered for credit recovery for BCHS and their costs 

Set up an account and click on the course name listed to continue to register. 

Cost is $195.00 per course (for most recovery courses). Their registration due date is June 21, 2018.

Phase 4 Learning Center  

Phase 4 is a Classroom Credit Recovery Program.   Click the title above for details and paperwork. 

The BC Counselor MUST sign your completed application. 

Student must pre-register at Pleasant Hills location, 521 E. Bruceton Rd, Pgh 15236. 

Classes run from June 18-July 13.  Space is limited & is first-come, first-served.   Two sessions run daily from 8-11am (morning session) and 12-3pm (afternoon session). 

Cost is $200 per course, cash or money order (made payable to PHASE 4 Learning Center, Inc.) and is due upon registration.  (NO CHECKS)

Project Succeed is a Classroom Credit Recovery Program at Keystone Oaks HS.  Click the title above for courses, dates and an application.  Space is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Credits are awarded at ½ credit for classroom work, passing of exams and ½ credit for Independent Study, both are needed by BC students to receive a full 1-credit for recovery.  Failure to complete & return all facets of the Independent Study, per the instructor, will result in NO CREDIT.

Cost is $200.00 per course, CASH ONLY.  Each class will run for ONE WEEK.  Students may choose 9am to 12pm class and/or 5pm to 8pm class.

Your Public School District

Call your Public School District’s High School to see if they offer summer school credit recovery.  Confirm with BC Counseling Office, Ext.224, that the particular class is an appropriate credit recovery.




The Allegheny Intermediate Unit (A.I.U.) is now accepting logins for students grades 9-11 to apply for their Spring and Fall Apprenticeship Programs.  Click on the title above for an information overview and a parent signature page.
