Students Compete in STEAM Competition

On Friday, March 2nd, four of our students travelled to Shaler Area High School to participate in the 3rd annual STEAM Competition. The team consisted of Danny Bird, Alex Fleming, Noah Kelsch, Darius Legleitner, and Eddie Stankowski. The competition consisted of building an underhand catapult and launching projectiles distances of 20, 30 and 40 feet. The BC catapult placed 6th out of 24 in the competition! Then, the students participated in four STEAM challenges, including a chem lab, making a basket out of newspaper, building a robotic contraption to transfer ping pong balls from a tub of water to a bucket, and a mechanical drawing contraption. The team placed second in the chem lab challenge!
