Admission Events


Applying to Bishop Canevin High School

Applications are due by January 20, 2013 for the 2013-14 school year. Completion of an application is all that is necessary for you to initiate the steps of the admission/acceptance process at Bishop Canevin High School. You may use the paper application available at BC or the online* application under the Admissions heading of our website. Your partner school main office also may have BCHS applications available.

*You may print a copy of the online application before submitting online to BC. Give the online copy or a copy of the paper application to the principal of your child's current school. The copy will serve as an official notification that you have begun the admissions process at Bishop Canevin High School. Use the copy as your request for the academic records to be sent to BC for review and admission to our school.

 

January, 2013 - Each school is sent a list confirming the names of applicants from their school. The academic records will be copied and forwarded to BCHS for the purpose of review and admission.

Financial Aid Night - Wednesday, January 23, 2013 - School Library from 7-8 pm - This evening includes details and important information to assist parents with the process of applying for financial aid and scholarships. We are commited to assisting families through this process. February, March, April 2013 - Individual student and parent appointments are scheduled at each Catholic partner school or at BC The BC placement test results and academic records are reviewed for course selection advisement with a BC school counselor. Your Catholic partner school principal will be our contact for these dates.

Non-partner school applicants are contacted for individual appointments at BC.

March 15, 2013 the PSAS form is due, submit all information to the aid service address

April 2, 2013 the Bishop Canevin Scholarship Application form with all requested information, letters of recommendation as needed, etc due to BCHS office. Attention: Mrs. Reinhart This application is sent to all applicants.

High school students seeking admission to BCHS may refer to the information for transfer students on our website.

* Sunday, December 2, 2012 BC Scholarship/Diocesan Placement Test

* Shadow Days

This experience may be especially helpful for students who did not attend an 8th Grade BC Experience Day or visit during Open House.

September, 2012 through January, 2013 and as needed for later applicants These partial or full school day appointments are individually scheduled to allow a more personal approach in experiencing the 9th grade curriculum. Shadow Days are specifically tailored to meet the academic interests of the 8th grade guest.

 

* January - June, 2013

Acceptance letters, appointments for selection of courses - begin in February and continue as needed.
