PROMENADE
The Promenade decorating committee is asked to report directly to the Art Room after school on Thursday to begin the decorating plans. Juniors, please be sure the Senior Council Members have this information.
PIFP - Prom Information for Parents
The prom begins at Bishop Canevin High School at 4:15 and ends at 11pm the Airport Marriott. 4:15 – 4:45 Check in, optional formal photographs, Promenade at 5:00. You must check in (4:15 – 4:45) to receive your prom tickets in the G lobby. Formal photographs, Room G109, by Matt Polk Photographs are optional; use the order form complete with payment. The Promenade begins at 5:00 in alphabetical order by the girls’ last names as confirmed at check in. Your promenade alphabetical order number will be posted in the halls. It is your responsibility to be in line promptly and in alphabetical order matching the number on the list. Your names will be announced in this order. Don’t disappoint your family and friends who are expecting to see you. 6:30 –11:00 Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis, PA, 15108. Please drop off your date at the entrance and park as close as possible in the front parking lot. Enter through the main lobby and proceed to the right to the final check in before the Grand Ballroom. 6:30 – 7:30 Dinner at the Airport Marriott followed by dancing until 11pm.

PJAS STATE RESULTS
Congratulations to Christina Vaccarello who took a first place at the PJAS state competition at Penn State on Monday! Her analysis of anti-microbial activity from two different perspectives was indeed impressive. Two other of our seasoned PJAS students went along as much-needed volunteer workers. Many thanks to Nick Rajakovich and Brennen Adams for all their support and help at State's.

SENIOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT TEACHERS
Thank you to the 2012 graduates who were Junior Achievement teachers at any time during the past four years. The “JA wall” at BC shows how much your efforts were appreciated by the elementary students. The following students taught JA beginning in 9th or 10th grade and continued to teach through their senior year: Meagan Blackwell, Patricia Cortese, Abra Dadum, Kelsey DeNardo, Jessica Marabello, Caitlin McNamara, Natalie Medved, Victoria Miller, Becca Olkosky, Angela Palchowski, Madeleine Rebholz, Jacob Schnelbach, Celeste Simpson, Jonathan Sommerer, and Matthew Zerishnek. These seniors will be acknowledged on May 22 at the Senior Awards Night. Good luck to the seniors who have applied for a 2012 JA scholarship based on their experiences and contributions to the program. Bishop Canevin grads have been awarded JA scholarships for the past four years!
CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS
Practice for cheerleading tryouts will be Monday, May 29th, Tuesday May 30th and Wednesday May 31st from 4:00 to 6:00. Tryouts will be on Friday June 1st at 5:30.
CRUSETTE TRYOUTS
Crusette tryouts are the week of Memorial Day. Tryout practices are May 29th, 30th and 31st at 6:00 p.m. Tryouts are June 1st at 6:00 p.m. If you would like to try out for the Crusetts, turn in your name, on a piece of paper to Mrs. Urbanek in the Main Office.

GENE KELLY NOMINATIONS
The votes are counted and the nominees for the 2012 Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater are in. Pittsburgh CLO and the University of Pittsburgh have announced the nominees for the Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater. The awards show will take place on Saturday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Benedum Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Bishop Canevin Catholic High School has been nominated for the following categories: Best Choreography, Best Costume Design - Budget II, Best Direction, Best Musical - Budget II, Best Scenic Design - Budget II, Best Supporting Actress - Katelyn Maurer. Congratulations and best of luck to the cast and crews of Bye Bye Birdie!

SAINTS SIMON AND JUDE FESTIVAL
Volunteers are needed for the Saints Simon & Jude Festival running July 12, 13 and 14, 2012. Set up will begin Saturday July 7 at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the week until the festival begins. Tear down will be held on Sunday, July 15 beginning at 9 a.m. We will need volunteers to help all three nights of the festival beginning at 6 p.m. Contact Mrs. Cunningham at 412-279-8442 or through email at rfcunningham@verizon.net. This is truly a fun event for all. The committee has added something special this year for basketball teams, football teams, band groups, etc. For any group that would be willing to help set up or tear down, we are giving each group $200 for set and $200 tear down!
